Auditions for this summer's production will be held on:

Callbacks will be held on Saturday, June 3rd. Specific times TBA.

Contributions from Cast Members
To participate in SAF, each cast member will be expected to contribute $525 to the program ($475 for West Hartford residents). This amount includes a registration fee and a required fundraising contribution, as our program relies heavily on the generous support of the community. While we recognize this cost is higher than past years, changes to the Connecticut and West Hartford budgets have significantly changed the ways in which we need to fund the program.
All cast members will be required to pay the $200 registration fee. Then, cast members have until July 15th to fundraise by seeking sponsorships for the remaining $325 of their contribution to SAF ($275 for West Hartford residents). Should cast members raise less than $325 ($275 for West Hartford residents), their remaining balance will be due on July 15th.
Sponsorship materials will be available to offset costs and the SAF staff will support cast members' efforts to find sponsorships.
Who is eligible to audition?
All performers in the Greater Hartford area, entering grade 9 through age 25, are eligible to audition.
What do I prepare?
Please prepare one song in the style of the show to sing with an accompanist. We highly discourage pop songs or classical vocal pieces. Choose a song you know well and will show your vocal potential. All performers must bring sheet music that is "accompanist ready": pages should be back-to-back in a three ring binder, with your cuts clearly marked.
How much does it cost to audition?
There is no fee to audition, so go ahead and sign up!
I'll still be away at school when initial vocal auditions are held. Can I submit an audition video?
Yes. If you cannot attend the initial vocal auditions, please record a video of yourself singing your accompanied audition song and email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 14th. You should also complete this video audition sign-up form as soon as possible so the artistic staff knows to expect your video.
I am going on vacation for a couple of days during the rehearsal schedule. Should I even bother to audition?
Yes. At the auditions, you will be given a form to fill out that lists all conflicts you may have. The creative team will be able to make an informed decision on your casting based on your conflicts.
I'd like to be in the orchestra. How do I audition?
We usually select our orchestra by mid-April, through a combination of invitation and audition. If you are interested in auditioning for our orchestra, email us at email@example.com. More specific information is available on the instrumentation needed when shows are announced in the spring.
I am more interested in the technical aspects of the show – building sets, painting, costumes, etc. Who should I contact?
